Privacy Policy

Sylvania Area Family Services Inc. collects information through our website at several points.  SAFS collects information through our website only in the ways disclosed in this statement.  This statement applies solely to information collected at the SYlvania Area Family Services Web site.

Part 1-

Sylvania Area Family Services collects information through our Web site at several points.  We collect the following information about primary visitors:  Name, Address, Phone Number, E-mail address, and any other comments that a visitor submits through our " Contact Us" page. 
*Please note that it is at the sole discretion of the visitor as to their listing of the above stated information. 
*We do not collect any information other than the information that the visitor wishes to share.
We verify the accuracy of this information by contacting via e-mail any visitor that a would like to submit information. 

We collect information through registration forms for the following:

Youth Programs-  Registration forms for both after school program and summer camp.  All forms are kept secured in the youth Program Director's files. 

Social Services- Every Client's vital information is collected only for the purposes of verifying eligibility as mandated by the State regulations pertaining to individuals within 200% of the poverty guidelines and who reside within the Sylvania School District.

All information collected through our programs and donor data base is voluntary and is the sole discretion of our donors, clients, and supporters.  Other information we request is optional.

We do not employ cookies.  A cookie is a small text file that a website places on a computer hard drive to be a unique identifier.

Part 2-

The information collected by Sylvania Area Family Services Inc. will be used for the following purposes: 
-Statistical data (to be used to seek funding for ongoing and future programming)
- Annual Reports to all donors and our members of the community who support SAFS through in kind donations

Registered users will only receive  additional announcements  from us on services, annual reports, and public announcements.  Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications.

We only share data regarding our clientèle with the following third parties:
- Possible grant funders (only statistical information, at no time do we disclose names and address of clients)

- Salvation Army ( we share the social security numbers of all clients who apply for a holiday basket as verification that the client is not receiving a basket from several locations, the Salvation Army acts as our clearing house for this purpose only.

We offer links to the City of Sylvania and other local entities who may be of service to our clients.  We do not offer chat rooms, forums, or message boards.

If our policy on information and collection or uses changes, SAFS will advise you by the means in which you have specifies that we contact you (i.e. e-mail, mailing) within 2 weeks of the change.

Part 3-

Sylvania Area Family Services Inc. maintains the accuracy of our information through ongoing review process by both the staff and board of directors.  Any user may contact Sylvania Area Family Services via e-mail, phone our mail to delete their name from our data base (i.e any donor who wishes not to be solicited in the future).

Upon receiving the users information/correspondence we will resolve the situation within 5 business days

Part 5-

Sylvania Area Family Services Inc. protects user information wit the following security measures:
-Using Sonic Security Firewall (Firewall is updated daily by SAFS)
